Professional Services Technical Consultant

Future Wei (Huawei) technologies seeks an experienced and result oriented Technical Consultant with strong IP based consulting and technical skills for its Professional Services group to serve its global and strategic Service Provider customers and help them go through a complete IP transformation while working in collaboration with multiple functional business units within Huawei.  A background in Virtualization would be very desirable.

The candidate shall be responsible for managing all ingredients involved in service delivery for IP transformation projects to ensure successful realization of business goals pertaining to development and delivery of professional services.

The candidate will drive efforts to plan, enhance Professional Service portfolio and deliver the services on schedule and within budget to Huawei’s strategic global customers. The candidate shall also be responsible for leading project based cross-functional virtual and dynamic teams.

 The candidate shall be able to establish the credibility with both internal and external stakeholders. This candidate shall have the ability to create an environment and set an example of innovation and getting results while being politically and organizationally savvy. This candidate shall be decisive while being respectful to others while working with internal team members from different business units or geographies and handle the new and different situations effectively.

The candidate shall be flexible to work on work on special projects, as needed. The candidate shall actively contribute to build professional services portfolio, develop leading practices and drive intellectual capital creation while promoting culture of standardization. This is a senior role in the organization and this individual will act as a role model and mentor for other members within the team by sharing information and key lessons learned with other team members for the benefit of all programs.

Qualifications:

At least 10 years experience in designing, implementing and supporting large scale IP, MPLS, 3G & Metro E networks. Specific qualifications include:

Experience in developing, managing and/or delivering technology based services (Advisory, transactional or Subscription based Services) through full life cycle. Experience related to service development and delivery in International environment will be treated as a plus.

Must have an experience/exposure of working at “C” level and developing business documents such as Go To market plan, technical strategies and developing alternate business models.

Must have in depth working knowledge of all the routing & switching protocols, IP stack, MPLS and Metro E technologies. Exposure of designing large scale voice, video, data centre and mobility based projects

Must have hands on experience in configuring routers and switches from multiple vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Huawei and Alcatel etc.

Must have experience of developing & delivering BoMs, High Level/Low Level design, Test plan, troubleshooting related documents to the highest standards.

Experience of leading quality based technical and strategic initiatives with a positive impact on the business. Experience of publication of technology/business documents and speaking engagements in well known industry forums will be treated as a plus.

As a technical leader, Work effectively with multi-discipline groups (marketing, sales, certification, and engineering) to drive the success.

 

Skills/Experience:

•         Proven ability and track record of designing, implementing and supporting IP/MPLS based large scale and/or complex projects.

•         Experience of managing multiple projects and working with cross functional teams in a strong matrix environment. Service provider experience will be a plus

•         to lead diverse teams to deliver products to market that meet program objectives

•         Experience of product/Service development, field trials, and launch is preferred.

•         Exceptional project management skills

•         Excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of additional vernacular language (Spanish, Mandarin, French or Arabic etc.) will be treated as a plus.

•         Strong organizational skills

•         High level of adaptability and self-motivation

•         Ability to see the big picture; ability to balance and consider people, technical and business needs into decision making.

•         A significant working knowledge of technology related services and their development processes.

 

Multiple CCIE/JNCIE level Certifications (relevant to the role) will be treated as a definite plus.

 

Education:

B.S. or higher degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience, with minimum of 5 years experience with handling multiple complex projects or equivalent amounts of education and experience will be considered. CCIE certification in Service Provider or Routing and Switching will be a plus.
