Huawei, a leading telecom solutions provider opened the Silicon Valley Innovations Center in 2009. The Center’s charter is to bring new information, communication technologies to the carrier, enterprise and consumer market through internal development as well as through partnership with Silicon Valley based companies and research institutes. These innovations range from medium to long term research areas.
Summary:
As part of the Innovations Center Team, you will help to define new evolving and revolutionary ideas that may lead to next generation business opportunities for Huawei. You will lead and participate within Innovation Center’s Strategy team where your superior analytic and communications skills will be challenged to deliver market-driven, insightful recommendations to Huawei’s global R&D management. Leverage your experience in strategy and planning background to help Huawei’s R&D executives make sound and timely decisions.

Responsibilities:

We’re looking for someone with some ICT background or at least some IT background, with knowledge in some of these areas

- Software Defined Networks, Big Data, Cloud, NG Data Center, Internet of Things.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic technology and business vision of ICT related fields, including key initiatives, strategic cooperation, industry landscape and megatrends; and new business opportunities.
• Support the technology strategy & planning process, including the development of technology strategy and planning, innovation ideas, and technology exploration initiatives
• Drive new innovation projects within Huawei North America R&D’s Innovation Center. Demonstrated a track record of proposing and driving new ICT related projects.
• Support US R&D Innovations Center’s initiatives that include developing technology and business case for new innovations, and support the planning of the new programs.
• Create whitepapers, presentations, internal blogs to highlight new areas of technology focus for Huawei.
• Demonstrated strong verbal, written and presentation skills in English is a MUST. It is desirable to have similar skills in Mandarin.
• Be able to deliver market-driven insights through the development of market ecosystem and value chain models that are used at an executive level
• Test new innovation hypotheses through analytics, collaborating across the company, getting market inputs from customers and potential partners to ensure the thoroughness of the new idea.
• Research, analyze and recommend courses of action both at the innovation project and team level that directly contributes to project outcome.
• Work in a team environment both within the Innovation Center team and with other R&D Strategy team members
• Work collaboratively across organizations to help secure the commitment for cross-Business Group efforts and fully leverage Huawei’s assets
• Represent Huawei at external conferences and seminars.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in engineering/computer science with business experience.
• 5 years experience in technical strategy within the information and communications technology industry
• Demonstrated leading client teams, peers, and analysts through all aspects of technology strategy and guiding engineering teams in the development of critical project deliverables
• Superior analytical skills and basic financial modeling capabilities
• Demonstrated success in delivering results in a cross-functional team setting
• Exceptional project management skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably in Mandarin – both internally and externally
