DIVISIONAL CONTROLLER: OIL & GAS SYSTEMS

The Divisional Controller will be responsible for all of the division’s financial functions and will provide financial leadership for the division. It is critical for the Controller to have a business orientation with an operational focus and to be a true strategic and business partner to the VP & GM and other members of the division’s leadership team. The Controller will work in a hands-on environment, influencing day-to-day business decisions in partnership with the businesses and providing counsel to the VP & GM. The Controller must be able to work well within the division as well as at the Group and Corporate levels acting as a representative of the divisional leadership team in those forums.

The Oil & Gas Systems Division of CWFC currently a $250m business has the following key challenges for the next 3-5 years during which time it will more than double:
The Controller is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the financial functions of the division in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, other regulatory and advisory organizations e.g., Government and related Regulatory Agencies, and in accordance with CW financial policies and other appropriate financial management techniques and practices.

Knowledge and Experience
Prospective candidates will have a demonstrated record of success in positions of increasing financial management responsibility and will be exceptional at developing, managing and leading directly or indirectly the full complement of financial, operational and administrative responsibilities of the organization. He/She will be a seasoned financial manager with a reputation for his/her financial acumen, strategic thinking, business judgment, quantitative analysis ability, and leadership skills. An ideal background will include experience in a mid-sized, growth-oriented, engineering and manufacturing organization with strong long-term contract experience, as well as, acquisition and international experience. A strong understanding of manufacturing and a keen appreciation for the issues confronting an evolving, dynamic, international business with operational complexities is also required. The employee has to be well versed in many subjects including mergers and acquisitions, government contracting issues, and international contracting issues. The employee must understand both the economic and financial requirements of all the businesses within the division. Microsoft Office expertise is a must (Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
The Controller must possess the leadership skills to inspire others through conviction, respect, and the ability to articulate and formulate financial strategy and direction. He/She must fit in with and help foster the kind of culture that the VP & GM is developing and continue building on the momentum that is apparent in the current environment. This person must possess the intellectual horsepower to guide the organization, and this intellect must be complemented by a strong process orientation, a demonstrated track record of being a user, as well as a provider of information, and a qualitative orientation toward all business practices.
This individual needs to be well organized, persistent, and metrics-driven; and possessing strong relationship instincts. Energy, creativity, focus, multi-dimensional thinking, strong work ethic and interpersonal skills are dominant characteristics which would enable him/her to succeed within a team-oriented, interactive environment that is not conducive to self-centered agendas. An entrepreneurial, open-minded individual with excellent communication skills is a must. This person must also possess the highest levels of maturity, ethics and professional integrity.
A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable; plus twelve to fifteen years of related experience with at least five to seven years in a management position is required.
The Division will design an attractive compensation and benefits package to include base salary and bonus (short- and long-term), commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and contributions.
