Computercraft seeks a seasoned professional to participate in, and provide strategic, administrative, and technical expertise to, the operations of the PubMed Central digital archive. PubMed Central is the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature. The successful candidate will work onsite at NIH with experts from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), which is part of NIH’s National Library of Medicine (NLM). The successful candidate will work with project stakeholders including senior NIH management, PMC content managers and software developers, international collaborators, the research community, and scientific journal publishers to ensure the success of PubMed Central and the NIH Public Access Policy. Specific responsibilities may include helping to develop and interpret policy for NCBI staff as well as various external stakeholders; negotiating agreements with publishers and other collaborators; and identifying changes that need to be made to PMC or ancillary systems.
