Description

Role Overview

As a Software Designer, You would be in the team that is responsible for selection, architecture, design, development, and support of our elastically scalable distributed systems platform on Linux for our network products. This role involves challenges in horizontal scalability, N+1, performance tuning, concurrency, high availability, and geographic redundancy. Providing high-level system designs, detailed design specifications, and estimates is also involved in the role. You would be recognized as a subject matter expert, and will collaborate with the developers and the testers supporting applications to deliver solutions.

Your thrill is the constant self-discovery, and self-teaching on new technology, languages, and development techniques. You are experienced in championing how to apply these to achieve team goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of designing, and developing Java and C/C++
  • 5+ years of experience in network programming
  • 5+ years of experience in Object Oriented Analysis and Design
  • 5+ years of experience with file systems, concurrency, multithreading
  • Experience in developing large-scale, high performance, distributed backend systems
  • Experience in designing extendable software platforms with elasticity, high-availability, fault-tolerance, and high throughput
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent)

Preferences

  • Expertise with massively scalable clustered systems with shard architectures
  • Architectures and designs using and building NoSQL and its ecosystem
  • Extensive experience in application performance tuning and profiling in Java and/or C/C++ on Linux
