We are seeking Video Feedback Reviewers with certification in math and English. Reviewers will be TNTP employees based out of a home office anywhere in the United States (flexible location).  These positions will start training in June 2013 and are expected to last through June 2014 with the possible option to extend. This role requires approximately six hours of work per week during the school year with potentially fewer hours over the summer. We are accepting applications through May 31st.

Tools for Teacher Excellence creates transformative new tools that support teachers, school leaders, and policymakers in their efforts to improve teacher effectiveness, including “Great Teaching, Great Feedback,” an online platform that enables teachers to upload a video of their teaching and receive high-quality feedback from skilled reviewers. Great Teaching, Great Feedback is currently partnering with one large urban school district and several TNTP teacher training programs, with plans to take on several additional partnerships in the 2013-14 school year.

Qualifications

• Strong education background and instructional skill set with at least three years K-12 teaching experience (required), preferably in high-need schools or with high-need populations, and a track record of raising student achievement
• Minimum of 6 hours of availability per week, 8-10 hours per week preferred. Work can be completed during non-standard hours and on weekends
• Current certification and experience teaching and/or supporting teachers in one of the following areas required: Math or English
• Previous experience observing, evaluating, or mentoring teachers (required)
• A record of setting and achieving ambitious goals
• Ability to critically assess challenges and identify effective solutions
• A commitment to producing consistently high quality, detailed work
• Excellent oral communication and writing skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Access to high speed internet connection to complete video review at flexible times
• The ability to work effectively with others at all levels of an organization and to consistently display a high level of professionalism in all interactions
• Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office suite and comfort learning and navigating an online platform

Role and Responsibilities

• Participate in virtual 14-hour training (mostly independent work time, with 2-3 scheduled conference calls/webinars)
• Review online teacher videos, assessing classroom practice in order to select and share performance ratings and give constructive feedback. Video Feedback Reviewers will observe and rate instruction in their certified subject area(s)
• Effectively implement up to four observation rubrics and maintain normed ratings on those rubrics (as determined by the program)
• Provide high quality, actionable feedback that results in teacher improvement and return to the platform
• Review at least three videos per week (6 hours). Reviewers may review more videos, depending on demand, but three per week is the minimum requirement if/when there are videos available for review
• Commit to three  “on call” days of their choice during the week (Monday – Sunday) to review  videos within 36 hour turn around windows
• Use feedback from manager to improve video reviews and performance in real time
• Participate in ongoing training and norming calls (approximately 1-2 per month)

Compensation

The salary for this position is $25 per hour.
