Overview

The German Localization Editor provides German language Localization services for ArenaNet products.  This position plans localization production in conjunction with producers responsible for English content.  Ability to verify, edit and localize all assets including patch notes, security and marketing content.  Localization scheduling and prioritization of all assets into target languages is key to this role. 

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with voice over localization studios and offsite localization team to complete content localization for German localization milestone schedules, at AAA quality
  • Verify and update German game content terminology in conjunction with vendors and the NCSOFT European subsidiary office
  • Make sure all game and company glossaries are up-to-date and relevant, both in terms of gaming specificities and of language quality.
  • Manage content import and exports of voice over and text (English source and Chinese localized content) on a daily/weekly basis from the content database
  • Perform emergency translations into German as needed
  • Track localization bugs
  • Coordinate with the Localization Manager and Producers to ensure all the necessary information, whether technical or contextual, have been provided.
  • Perform localization QA sanity checks on text and VO
  • Coordinate test passes on localized content with the aim of continuous improvement of the product quality and responding to player issues and bug reports
  • Provide proofreading/editing services on assets translated through the localization department
