Web Programmer

Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Web Programmer to join one of the world’s most successful online MMO games studios.

Existing MMORPGs are very closed worlds – you have to be in the game to see what’s going on, to interact with game systems. One of our goals with GW2 is to build an extended experience that unifies the game with the web and mobile devices.

You’ll be working on the analysis, architecture, design, and implementation of world-class web sites which tie deeply into our games. You’ll create dynamic websites built on top of Javascript-based servers (similar to Node.JS), connecting the web directly into our game services.

With multiple gaming awards such as: 2012 Time Magazine’s #1 Game of the year, Gamespot’s PC game of the year and countless other awards to their name, this multi-award winning business employs about 300 people and is taking the MMO gaming world by storm.  With 3 Million players and growing since launch, this is a fantastic opportunity to take the programming team to the next level by growing Guild Wars 2 worldwide success. 

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of modern web programming issues
• Strong Javascript skills
• Strong HTML and CSS skills
• A passion for high performance, efficiency, and quick page loads.
• 4+ years of professional programming experience (not necessarily in the game industry)

We’re a programmer-driven organization and we place a very high emphasis on maintaining code quality. You’ll work hand-in-hand with designers, artists, and other programming teams to create exciting new experiences for Guild Wars 2.
