Location: NSWC Carderock in Bethesda, MD
Possess a degree in engineering or science with a desired 15 years of experience, or a desired 20 years experience without a degree. Desired experience includes conducting full-scale trials or towing tank experiments on U. S. Navy surface ships and submarines, particularly standardization, powering, maneuvering, seakeeping, tactical and emergency recovery trials. Desired experience includes conducting trials to evaluate the performance of conventional ships, submarines, rotor wing aircraft systems, advanced hull forms, unmanned air vehicles (UAVs), unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs), and towed, moored, or tethered systems. Experience in test and evaluation of test vehicles equipped with bulbous bows, special appendages, weapons launching systems, masking systems, and fixed pitch and controllable pitch propellers should be included within the desired experience requirements. This should include, but not be limited to: planning, directing, supervising using data acquisition instrumentation, analyzing and reporting. Experience with instrumentation of the type currently in use at NSWCCD should be included within the desired experience requirements. Finally, the desired experience should include experience in test and evaluation of advanced hull forms and in conducting trials and evaluating the performance of fixed pitch and controllable pitch propellers used on U. S. Navy surface ships and submarines. The candidate shall possess a Secret Security clearance as a minimum.
