Sr. Engineer - Citrix/VMware

Position Description:

Convergence is looking for a Sr. Engineer professional to execute the systems engineering lifecycle and provide consultative services regarding technology services to our customers.  Convergence has a number of opportunities for Citrix and VMware engineers.  Ideal candidates will possess a combination of skills across these technology areas.  Sr. Engineers will need to be able to implement the various technologies as documented by Convergence Implementation Architects, as well as have the ability to identify potential issues and opportunities in customer systems.  Convergence provides IT services throughout the Maryland, DC, and the Northern Virginia region. 

 Responsibilities:

Ideal candidates will be able to perform some or all of the following activities:

•          Install and configuring Citrix technologies including, but not limited to, XenApp, XenDesktop, Provisioning Services, and NetScaler appliances, and related technology
•          Install and configure VMware technologies including, but not limited to, ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, System Recovery Manager, and related technology
•          Create, analyze, and manage resource pools, virtual clusters, security groups, permissions, virtual machines and their templates, and virtual networks
•          The ability to perform physical-to-virtual migrations

·         The ability to identify, perform, and report on issues, and then follow-up such identification with approved corrective action

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS Degree in computing or equivalent work experience (may substitute four (4) year of relevant work experience for BS Degree)
• Must hold current professional certifications in area(s) of expertise
• Experience as a systems administrator, systems engineer, systems architect or consultant in a Citrix and/or VMware environment.
• At least 5 years of direct, hands-on experience implementing & supporting Citrix and VMware Infrastructure in a production environment or consultant role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferred certifications = Citrix - CCA, CCIE, CCEE, or VMWare: VCP, VCAP-DCA or VCAP-DCD
• Storage Expertise a plus
• Knowledge of multiple technologies a plus
• Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Sharepoint, Visio and One Note
• Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance (active TS clearance highly preferred).
