Established over 7 years ago, the Halifax office has grown to be a professional team of over 350 people who service over 150 clients. This success has been built on an ability to innovate and consistently deliver a quality product. We currently have teams providing Middle Office, Corporate Actions/P&L and Back Office services. The Supervisor falls within the Middle Office operation.

Position Purpose

Having an in-depth understanding of complex financial instruments, the Supervisor will form part of a professional team responsible for meeting the daily deliverables of Hedge Fund clients and other Citco offices, per Service Level Agreements. Our clients demand the highest standards of execution and you will be at the forefront of our delivery. The supervisor will assist in the management of a team and its work processes and development; maintain client relationships; and work productively with colleagues from other Citco offices.

Main Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Completion and review of daily operational deliverables in line with Service Level Agreements with clients and other Citco offices
  • Assist Operations Manager in allocation of work to staff, work-flow processes and improvements
  • Assist staff with their daily work as need arises
  • Review daily trades,  position and cash reconciliation and monitor / analyze daily portfolio pricing
  • Break resolution for all open items with the brokers or clients
  • Review of  OTC master agreements and confirmations
  • Support the conversion of any new clients and existing migrations
  • Process and verify Corporate Actions
  • Collaborate with clients, other Citco Offices and Operations Support to resolve any open issues
  • Ensure proper P&L capture and risk management reporting

Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor or Master level degree (in accounting, finance, economics) or professional accounting designation
  • 5+ years experience in Financial Services
  • Previous experience supervising/coaching staff
  • Knowledge of hedge or mutual funds, plus domestic, global and OTC security markets, fixed income and derivative product knowledge
  • Strong customer relationship skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel
