Excellent clerical opportunity for a motivated individual to work part-time in Downtown Pittsburgh, working in the administration of the Court of Common Pleas, Allegheny County. Incumbent will assist with duties specific to the department, as well as perform general secretarial and clerical duties. Typical responsibilities will include:
*Assisting department manager with the administration of the department, which may involve contracts management, facilities management, purchasing, human resources, jury management, accounting or other court administrative functions.
*Preparing and typing various transactions, documents and reports for the department on the computer system using work processing, spreadsheet or database applications.
*Compiling and verifying department information.
*Preparing and typing general correspondence.
*Maintaining and updating computer files.
*Answering and transferring telephone calls and responding to appropriate inquiries from court personnel and others.
*Performing general clerical duties, including filing, copying and distributing documents.
* Providing secretarial support to the court judges, as assigned and needed.
High School Diploma, or equivalent, plus specialized clerical training with at least 2 years of secretarial experience in an office or courts setting. Incumbent should have general knowledge of clerical and office practices and procedures, as well as knowledge of office computer software and general office equipment. Additionally, we are looking for someone with the ability to organize and complete work within established guidelines, the ability to maintain records an files and the ability to work and communicate effectively with government and court officials, other agencies, associates and the public.
Position would work 20-24 hours per week, but incumbent must be available to work a flexible schedule by flexing their days weekly to meet the demands of the office. Starting salary range is $15-$17/hour.
