Kennedy/Jenks Consultants is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for our Federal Way, Washington, office. The main objective of this position is to provide civil engineering consulting services to the firm’s industrial, water/wastewater and heavy transportation market sector clients. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with good interpersonal skills who is comfortable working in a team environment managing projects from proposal to construction completion.

We are seeking qualified applicant who will:

  • Manage and coordinate project technical work on a wide range of projects from design through construction support stages. 
  • Conduct project engineering work, such as studies, conceptual and preliminary design, design, and post-design services. 
  • Conduct data analysis, report writing, and presentations to clients and agencies. 
  • Be responsible for project management responsibilities including participation in the business development and pricing of technical proposals. 
  • Mentor and train junior technical staff

What you will need:    Qualified applicants will have 15 to 20+ years of experience as a consulting engineer conducting detailed designs and project management of large civil infrastructure projects. These projects would include civil site development, grading, storm drainage, water transmission pipelines, sanitary sewer collection systems, and pump stations, as well as a solid understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and plants. Previous project management, engineering, and consulting experience required. Knowledge of the industrial clients and water and wastewater industry is a plus.  Previous experience and ability to lead a multi-discipline design team in the production of plans and specifications.  Bachelor of Science in Environmental or Civil Engineering and a Registered Professional Engineer required as well as the understanding of the use of AutoCAD and/or Microstation in producing design.
