We are currently looking for a:

Senior Manager, Planning, International

Reporting to the Vice-President, Planning, the Senior Manager, Planning will be responsible to lead and manage the Planning Team by providing strong leadership, direction and assistance in order to build a world-class Planning department.

Evaluate all planning systems and procedures to determine if they will help the company meet its financial plans. Extensive knowledge of planning procedures is required to help determine the most optimal planning procedures and optimal use of planning systems. Determine the best training program for staff in using the planning system.

Work with finance and provide monthly forecasts of the company’s expected sales and gross margins.

Work with the VP of buying by identifying future trends and developing plans for next season’s merchandise while respecting the gross margin set out by finance.


 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Improvement of planning business procedures on an on-going basis;
  • Final approval of all budgets for Merchandise Plan (Open to buy);
  • Final approval of all forecasts at the store level;
  • Final approval of all forecasts at the department level;
  • Final approval of all Assortment Plans (Core and Basic Fashion Styles);
  • Provide overall markdown strategies to planning managers to be implanted at the class level;
  • Managing and build planning teams to lead our national and international banners.


Qualifications and competencies: 

  • Bachelor of commerce or related field in order;
  • 7 to 9 years experience in a similar role;
  • Systems oriented;

·         Retail experience a must;

·         Strong management skills;

·         Strong business acumen;

·         Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving;

·         In depth understanding of the brand and its target market;

·         Expertise in Planning and Allocation software tools;

·         Team cooperation / Coordination;

·         Communications skills;

·         Bilingual (French & English).

  • Direct supervision of 5 people
