General Function: The Lead Analyst of Marketing Analytics will support Axcess Financial’s global, retail, credit businesses. The Lead Analyst will provide leadership in innovating, building, and implementing targeting and customer value enhancement solutions that meet/exceed the needs of the marketing organization and other internal customers.  Delivered solutions will integrate effectively into existing systems and processes while providing strong and consistent performance.  The Lead Analyst will lead/supervise projects including but not limited to the following: marketing response/conversion scores, customer lifetime value predictions, marketing mix modeling, online third party lead valuation, and brand equity assessment.  The Lead Analyst will use champion/challenger and design of experiments (DOE) methods to deliver empirically based solutions.  The Lead Analyst will provide leadership in project design and project management from inception through post implementation monitoring.  The Lead Analyst will supervise and mentor less experienced analysts and help to develop a highly productive team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Marketing Analytics:

  • Lead predictive modeling and analytics projects from inception through post-implementation monitoring.  Projects to include:
    • Marketing mix modeling to drive continual improvement to promotional activities across multiple media channels (email, SMS, direct mail) to support multiple credit products (cash advance, installment loans, title loans) in multiple countries
    • Loan conversion propensity models to support valuation of online leads (from online lead generators) to continually improve lead-buying strategies
    • Collection activities scorecards to continually improve customer contact/communications strategies
  • Generate and test ideas to use new modeling and analytical methodologies to improve accuracy and cost to implement
  • Evaluate and implement third party modeling/analytics to increase value
  • Research and evaluate internal/external data sources to increase value of marketing related predictive modeling and analytics

Collaboration / Internal Consultancy:

  • Own, build, and continually improve relationships with internal customers
  • Convincingly communicate with internal customers and senior management to explain the benefits, limits, and requirements for proposed marketing solutions
  • Proactively identify and propose ways to use decision sciences to drive value for internal customers
  • Collaborate with other business functions to develop and implement analytical and modeling solutions
  • Contribute to decisions regarding development/revision of data and decisioning architecture

Policy Development / Thought Leadership:

  • Collaborate with credit risk in developing strategic policy standards and risk‐based lending principals
  • Collaborate with multiple user and operations groups to develop and implement the most effective policies for the US and Global sales, marketing and customer relationship management programs
  • Contribute to senior‐level management discussions and decision making sessions when necessary
  • Provide intellectual leadership and analytical support to business leadership in efforts to develop new products and to drive continual improvement of strategies supporting value generation throughout the customer/product life cycle (targeting, CRM, collections, recoveries)

Team Leadership

  • Supervise the work of less experienced analytic staff in support of the functions listed above

Skills Description

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• 8+ years experience using analytics to drive improvement of marketing promotional activities
• 5+ years experience (post graduation of M.S./Ph.D.) building predictive models using linear regression, logistic regression, and decision tree methodologies
• 5+ years experience with SAS and SQL programming or expert level certification
• Masters degree in quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Engineering)
• Strong communication skills to present project plans and results to senior management
• Strong business intuition to identify opportunities to apply modeling/analytics to drive value for internal customers
• Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple simultaneous projects
• Living in, or willing to relocate to, Cincinnati, Ohio

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
• Experience in installment, unsecured, or alternative lending
• Experience in analytical customer relationship management
• Experience in consumer financial services
• Ph.D. degree in quantitative discipline
• Additional MBA (MBA in addition to M.S./Ph.D. in quantitative discipline)
• Fluent in Spanish language
• Superior communication skills and the ability to collaborate and build consensus among varied business leaders
• Experienced in working within fast-paced/management consulting role analyzing a problem, adding value, and moving on
• International business experience; worked overseas or in support of global operations

Working Conditions:
• Normal office environment
• Extended viewing of computer screens
• Limited Travel may be required
