Provide fitness instruction and leadership to Elementary After School programs (Grades 1st-6th)

Prior experience teaching fitness to children preferred.

Demonstrate knowledge and experience in fitness or a related field such as teaching or child development.

Ability to relate well to both children and their parents.

Certified in CPR and First Aid, or certified within 30 days of hire (YMCA provides).

Minimum 18 years of age.

Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Qualifications:
-
Planning, preparing and implementing SPARK curriculum (YMCA provided) for specific group activities for each day. Organize facilities, games and equipment as necessary.

Attending all scheduled days of program to teach curriculum, staff training and other staff meetings; arriving on time for each event; remaining on site until all duties are completed and equipment is properly stored.

Leading designated groups throughout the assigned sessions; accountable for children’s behavior at all times; act as an outstanding role model to school aged/teen children and other staff.

Overseeing all program activities for designated groups; directing activities as necessary to maintain YMCA quality; adhere to all YMCA policies, rules and guidelines set fourth for program staff

Maintaining equipment and facilities as designated by the program supervisors.

Report incidents by the end of your shift or within 24hrs to the program director.

Be a good role model to the children and others; exemplifying the YMCA Mission Statement and its Core Values at all times.

Follow all guidelines as outlined in the Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, Staff expectations and directed by your supervisor.
Shift available is M-F 3:00pm-5:30pm. |
