This exciting opportunity in our Ottawa office will provide you with the opportunity to join our team to work on our high profile projects and act as a Mechanical Engineer within the Buildings Group on both new construction and re-model projects. You will apply your engineering knowledge on project work from conceptual design through completion in the following areas: commercial, retail, healthcare and institutional buildings. Technical quality, cost effectiveness, building and maintaining client relationships, and providing guidance to a team of designers are integral parts of this role.



  • Design of HVAC systems.
  • Design of plumbing and/or fire-protection systems.
  • Design of specialized piping systems, such as those for medical gases, laboratory gases, and waste liquids.
  • Analysis of the building’s heating, ventilation, and cooling loads.
  • Evaluation of energy-efficiency impacts of various mechanical- or lighting-system applications, as well as building design alternatives (energy analysis).
  • Evaluation of water-efficiency impacts of various equipment, systems, and building options.
  • Life-cycle-cost analyses.
  • Preparation of engineering reports.



  • Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, or eligible for registration
  • 4 to 7 of mechanical engineering design experience
  • Good team player, coordination with other disciplines and client essential.
  • Strong spoken and written technical skills; ability to communicate issues concisely.
