Position Description:


We are currently seeking a Manager - Building Science to meet our expanding project needs in our Vancouver office. The position will involve the development of client relationships, identifying and responding to project opportunities and RFPs in the local market, developing and delivering building science service offerings for clients with new and existing facilities, and identifying, hiring, managing, and training staff as the business grows.


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Lead and manage regional business development initiatives including staffing to suit business growth;
  • Contribute to the firm's reputation in the market and manage existing client base;
  • Lead investigations, condition assessments, and field reviews to determine design and repair options;
  • Conduct envelope commissioning and LEED durable building activities;
  • Prepare construction-related drawings, specifications, reports and proposals;
  • Provide technical advice to clients and direct project teams (consultants and contractors);
  • Manage contract administration and quality control reviews for new construction and restoration projects;
  • Review design drawings, specifications, and construction related submittals  based on building science fundamentals and project performance criteria;
  • Evaluate contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and quality standards are achieved;
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status, site issues and  project quality and resolve issues as required;
  • Make contributions to company knowledge management and practice systems.






  • Minimum 10 years of experience in building science, engineering, architecture, or contracting with a focus on the building enclosure;
  • Designation as a P.Eng. required with a specialty in building science; designation as BEP an asset;
  • Proven business development experience a must;
  • Proven success managing restoration and new construction projects involving large and small buildings;
  • In-depth knowledge of materials, constructions processes, cladding, and roof systems;
  • Able  to quickly identify and understand project issues and opportunities;
  • Knowledge of heritage restoration practices an asset;
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation  skills ;
  • Some travel required which at times can be up to 25% or more depending on business needs.
