Position Description: MMM is currently seeking a Senior Transportation Planner. This position will provide the opportunity to continue to grow our highly successful Transportation Planning team in Saskatoon. The right candidate will participate in and manage multi-disciplinary projects with public and private sector clients, as well as oversee group productivity. Business development including proposal preparation and client development, as well as managing, mentoring and directing staff on projects will be key responsibilities in this position.
MMM is looking for a leader who can advance their own career and the depth of professional services we provide, along with mentoring a team of younger staff to advance their careers. We are particularly interested in an individual who can help sustain and extend MMM as a practice leader in the visioning of and planning for sustainable urban communities. Effective public engagement is an increasing important role for transportation planners and we would expect you to be well versed and committed to delivering transparent consultation processes. An understanding of municipal and provincial legislation and trends in public policy is essential.
Qualifications: •Candidates should be eligible for membership in APEGS with 10+ years of progressive experience, preferably in a consulting environment or in a project management role in a public setting •Project and business development experience will set you apart from your peer group •Candidates must have strong team management, project management, report writing, and personal time management capabilities. •To succeed in this position you must be a highly motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, team player committed to providing high quality service to our clients •You must also be willing to engage with your project teams, work on multidisciplinary teams of planners, engineers and environmental managers and be prepared to mentor and guide other staff. •Please note that all offers of employment for safety-sensitive positions involving fieldwork are contingent upon candidates being able to perform key physical tasks of the job as described in the job posting and interview.
