Position:          Embedded Hardware/Software Engineer

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Embedded Software/Hardware Engineer is someone who is involved in a variety of electronic hardware/software design duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.  Duties include: analog and digital design, embedded controller design, embedded controller software design/development. This is a non-supervisory position but the candidate may be involved in project management.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of related experience required
• Experience with 16 and 32 bit embedded controllers required
•  Software experience in C, C++, and assembly required
• Experience with ARM embedded controllers preferred

Other Requirements:

• Multiple business trips per year will be required to our overseas facilities in Taiwan and China

Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering:

• Embedded Controller Hardware design
• Analog, digital, and interface electronic design
• C/C++ embedded controller software development
• Hardware and software design documentation
• Prototyping of both hardware and software
• Hardware testing and software debugging of internal designs
• Work with overseas manufacturing/engineering to move designs into manufacturing

Skills

• Embedded controller hardware skills
• Good debugging and problem solving skills
• Strong 16/32-bit embedded controller architecture knowledge
• Experience with embedded controllers and the WinCE platform a plus
• Solid understanding of Electrical Engineering fundamentals
• Innovative and logical thinking
• The ability to work with our overseas staff  to integrate the design into product manufacturing
