GENERAL SUMMARY:  Fix, troubleshoot and maintains multiple peripheral devices and internal electrical components.



  1. Participates in the research, design, development and testing of multiple printers, plotters, multi-functions, thick clients and monitors.
  2. Working knowledge of Virtual Desktop Imaging (VDI)
  3. Knowledgeable with hardware parts such as circuit boards, chips and other electrical components.
  4. Updates and reconfigure technical specifications for different types of production devices.
  5. Analyze and troubleshoot hardware configuration and processing procedures.
  6. Tests hardware performance to site and security specifications.
  7. Provides assistance to higher-level printer, server and transport engineers.
  8. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology for HP and Ricoh devices as assigned.
  9. Participates in special projects as required for new and developing technologies.


  1. Basic knowledge of hardware troubleshooting principles, methods, and techniques.
  2. Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
  3. Professional certification in one or more specific technologies may be required.


The work is typically performed in an office environment and at client site locations, which requires proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of printers, plotters, thick clients and other hardware equipment.
