TITLE:   Senior Subject Matter Expert / Industry Leader

LOCATION: New York

 

Position Overview:  To bring deep relationships and subject matter expertise in Capital Markets/ Securities and drive growth through thought leadership and transformation. 

Vision:

The Capital Markets Competency team   has been formed to focus on the next generation of solutions that Headstrong, a Genpact company will be taking to the market in a differentiated manner.  It is a  team of strategic important to the organization, interfacing directly with the divisional CEO

The charter of the team is to help identify and build platforms based services that will combine domain, technology, process excellence and operations services capabilities to provide end to end functionality in a particular business function.   

 

Role:

  •         You will join our team to improve market positioning of the organization’s in-house developed competencies. In this role you will work with the competency leaders to identify market opportunities.
  •         You will be responsible for identifying opportunities that will lead to large business function driven revenue opportunities ( typically a TCV of over $10m)
  •         You will  mentor and  direct other team members  in specific domains as we create and deliver the value proposition
  •         Translate the vision into an end to end solution and make presentations to internal and external audiences as required
  •         Be a visible presence in the post trade capital markets operations space

Responsibilities:

  •         Identify trends in the solution areas through market interaction and targeted client consulting projects
  •          Create thought leadership in the form of metrics, benchmarks etc. that would be utilized in the creation and delivery of the end to end business function solution
  •         Assist in hiring functional/technical specialists as well as process experts as required into the group both in offshore and onsite locations
  •         Represent the company in external forums as required to articulate our offerings and value proposition in the solution areas
  •         Work with the solution team to build prototypes and service definitions that can help validate these offerings with high quality output in short time lines.
  •         Build and maintain client relationships in the solution areas
  •         Develop and create proposals for large transactions in the specific solution areas

 

Knowledge /Experience:

Minimum 15 + years of Experience in the Capital Markets and Investment banking area (preferably in a major financial center New York or London)

  • Relevant industry network with C-suite
  •         Active participant in Industry forums /groups
  •         Should have represented  banks in key industry initiatives
  •         Publication record of  white papers or thought leadership articles n industry respected publications
  •         Direct business  experience at a large Global Bank or Experience at a major financial institution/s via a consulting firm is required
  •         Broad familiarity  with Investment Bank operations  with deep knowledge  of the business in a specific area (eg., Rates or Credit)
  •         Familiarity with large change initiatives at large financial institutions
  •         Undergraduate Degree is a must
  •         Professional Certifications such as CFA, CPA, FRM  is a plus
  •         Understanding of supporting technology platforms in the specific domain area is a plus

Skills/Competencies:

  •         Strong track record of delivering results against targets
  •         Ability to conceptualize and sell the vision of transformation in specific business functions in the competency area is a must
  •         Strong personal credibility with ability to build trusted relationships with senior business leaders
  •          Articulate and resilient individual with excellent writing skills and clear thought processes who can challenge intellectual, quick-thinking leaders
  •         Excellent consulting skills, with ability to influence senior stakeholders to get things done within highly matrixed and global organization
  •         Flexibility to work extended hours during peak times
  •         Ability to handle unstructured , fast paced work environment
  •         You will interact with teams in multiple global locations for example New York, London, India so the ability to deal with dispersed team members is a pre-requisite
