Our service team includes some of the most talented FAA-certified structural, electrical, avionics and A&P technicians, along with specialists in aircraft modification and maintenance programs.  We have a diverse workforce committed to excellence.  We are currently looking for a talented individual to lead our Maintenance Department.

The Director of Maintenance reports to the VP Operations for the management of day-to-day operations activities, including but not limited to complete airframe inspections, passenger to freighter conversions, heavy maintenance repair and modifications, executive interior modifications and avionics upgrade programs..

 

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance will include the managers of Avionics, Structures, Composite, Paint, Interiors, Aircraft Maintenance Technicians and Project Managers. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Lead, coach and mentor direct reports and their subordinates to consistently deliver excellence in their undertaking in all maintenance, modifications and conversion activities.
  • Ensure commitment and accountability at all levels by maintaining a cohesive organization motivated to meet and exceed company and customer expectations.
  • Ensure Project Managers understand and are provided the resources needed to establish the projects assigned, have commitment to the project plan, understand the project flow and the assigned milestone events, ensure effective resource allocation in collaboration with the Production Planning department.
  • Working closely with Project Managers, plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of all maintenance departments within the repair station to ensure efficient on-time delivery of projects.
  • Work closely with the Safety & Quality Assurance department to establish periodic training in order to maintain an accident free working environment delivering the highest quality service.
  • Ensure the facilities are kept to the highest standards of safety, compliant at all times, enforcing regulations and practices to avoid accidents. To deal with offenders in the appropriate manner in line with corporate policies. To ensure that good housekeeping is undertaken by all employees, keeping their work area clean and tidy at all times.
  • Strive for continuous process improvements while ensuring compliance to FAA/EASA, safety (OSHA), legal and established corporate procedures, checks and balances.
  • Provide frequent accurate and candid reporting to the VP Operations.
  • Keep all direct reports informed of operational objectives and relevant corporate information approved for dissemination.
  • Establish performance metrics, goals and performance evaluation processes in line with corporate policy. The individual and department goals should be aggressive, achievable and in line with corporate strategy as delegated by the VP Operations.
  • Conduct regular meetings, clearly establishing meeting objectives and actionable items; this includes daily operations meetings, shift turnovers, all hands safety instructions, project pre-dock meetings and customer daily meetings and project reviews.
  • Interact and coordinate with other departments including Stores and Production Planning, also attend interdepartmental meetings as necessary.
  • Work closely with Stores to ensure sufficient parts, equipment and tooling resources are available at all times, paying close attention to requirements for non-planned events, drop in maintenance and customer requests, ensuring an efficient project re-delivery is met by established date.
  • Ensure training and other development initiatives are reviewed, organized and in place to support  all maintenance and modification activities, including conversions. This is to include all full time CJI technical employees, part time CJI technical employees and CJI contractors.
  • Ensure that all technicians involved in maintenance/modification and conversions, have in hand and utilize the applicable data effective for the task being performed and appropriate task sign-offs are made utilizing the specific data used in performing the work..
  • Ensure that all required documentation is available to all maintenance departments and that each mechanic properly completes each entry for work accomplished or extended.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are handled with care and kept in serviceable condition, ensuring required checks and periodic calibrations. Any equipment problems should be documented and reported immediately to the stores for subsequent repairs. Ensure all tooling and equipment is replaced in their respective boxes/containers and returned to their assigned storage locations.
  • Meet performance matrix and project targets while overseeing workload assignments and providing feedback on the progress of each maintenance, modification and conversion project. Ensure daily, technical personnel assignments are scheduled to meet the quality and flow per the current re-delivery schedule, labor hour collected for each task is managed within 5% of the bid hours, total card count (open and closed) are managed to met aircraft re-delivery schedule and resources allocated to projects where re-delivery schedule is in jepordy. 
  • Aggressively enforce a working environment that is safe, professional and quality driven.
  • Support the VP Operations in other company activities that may be required from time-to-time.
  • Take part in the budgetary process and other investment project plans as required.
  • Liaise with Human Resources in the recruiting, recognition and termination of employees as necessary.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • High School Diploma/GED or O.J.T. Minimum of 10 years experience required on commercial maintenance.
  • Five years in a managerial position..
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environement.
  • Current A & P License and Training Certificates, General Familiarization and O.J.T forms.
  • Effective Decision making skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in order to effectively interact with all levels of staff and management.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.  Able to prioritize workload in accordance with business demands.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred.
