Manufacturing General Labourer for Sanimax

APC Nutrition/Sanimax is looking for a General Labourer to join our team!  We are a green company that serves the agri-food industry by reclaiming animal, food and other by-products that would otherwise end up in landfill. APC Nutrition in Calgary produces high quality animal protein powder, under strict controls of CFIA, HACCP and Health & Safety regulations.

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Labourer operates various tools and machines to transform whole blood into a valuable product. This role touches many tasks from receiving whole blood to shipping of final packaged product for worldwide distribution.

In this role, you will:

• Receive, check and test whole blood arriving to the facility
• Ship the final packaged product
• Process blood via separator, Nano filtration and spray drier
• Collect product samples for QA testing
• Ensure blood tanks are routed and stored safely
• Fill bags and manually stacking on pallets
• Operate forklift in warehouse
• Ensure cleanliness of plant and equipment

The right person for this role is a values-driven, team-oriented individual with high work standards.  We are also looking for:

• Experience with separators, bagging machines and spray driers, fork lift license highly preferred
• Physical ability to stack pallets of 40 bags, weighing 50lb each, in a food processing environment. Some working at heights involved.
• Candidates to possess a Grade 12 diploma
• Ability to work in uncomfortable work setting that includes working with animal biproducts
• A positive work ethic.
