SharePoint Developer

The SharePoint developer role at Bennett Adelson is responsible for implementing best practices on the SharePoint development platform, training .Net developers on the SharePoint system and having working experience with the APIs and development tools made available in both SharePoint 2007 and 2010. Candidates must have a strong background in .Net development and object oriented programming concepts and have experience with ASP.Net/Webpart web development. Candidates must have IT consulting experience and be familiar with a team approach to execution as well as possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • .Net programming experience that can be leveraged across web-based projects
  • Validation of conceptual SharePoint architectures and contributions to technical approach
  • Implementation of conceptual architecture
  • Configure and deploy SharePoint solutions
  • Assist/Mentor junior developers

Required Experience/Skills

Candidates should have completed at least seven full professional software engineering projects across multiple platforms and have acquired the following:

  • SharePoint 2010, 2007
  • .NET 3.5
  • C#, ASP.NET
  • Experience with .Net Linq (Linq to SharePoint)
  • Experience with CAML
  • WebPart Framework
  • Experience with CMS systems
  • Deep knowledge of the internal architecture of SharePoint
  • Extensive experience with software design fundamentals and design patterns
  • Proficiency with web languages, including HTML, JavaScript, etc.
  • Strong enterprise integration experience
  • Computer networking and Unix fundamentals
  • Rational Unified Process or strong full-cycle software development methodology experience; UML 2.0
  • Experience with software design, project management, and implementation tools, such as Rational Rose, NANT, NUNIT, NLog, etc
  • Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures and WebService architectures
  • Knowledge of Internet security and strong experience in architecting secure applications
  • Significant experience with tuning and refactoring code and assessing the impact of architectural decisions on performance and scalability
  • Thorough knowledge of IIS

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of what’s new in SharePoint 2013
  • Experience working with one or more RIA (Silverlight, WPF)
  • Experience with SharePoint Online
  • Experience with social networking and personalization integration with CMS platforms.
  • Experience in multiple industries, including financial services
  • Experience with other content management platforms, such as Interwoven
  • Experience with Powershell
