POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Process Improvement Coordinator will focus  efforts primarily on systematically investigating various efficiency levels related to the operational components of the manufacturing plants and implement systems that streamline production.  The Continuous Improvement Coordinator is responsible for establishing and prioritizing training and implementing formal continuous improvement processes within Solid Wood Sector Business units.  Using these processes, the role will achieve specific measurable improvements in reliability, throughput and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in manufacturing continuous improvement processes is preferred;
  • A strong commitment towards safety is essential;
  • Experience working with Continuous Improvement Consultants;
  • 5 to 10 years of Continuous Improvement management experience, preferably in the forest industry;
  • Possess strong leadership and excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Extensive hands on knowledge in system level CI tools and techniques;
  • Superior intellectual problem solving abilities and a practical sense of what works in complex organizations;
  • Experience defining scope of projects, laying out project schedules and timelines, defining requirements for deliverables and ensuring projects meet financial goals
