Description

The F&B Intern will rotate through various front of the house positions to gain more comprehensive experience in the field of restaurant management. 
 
JOb description:
Cashier
 
        Promptly retrieves drawer from cage area at beginning of shift. Always counts drawer before leaving Cage. Ensures all items are in drawer and bags are properly labeled.
        Maintains knowledge of all prices and portions in assigned outlet. Maintains knowledge of all discounts and promotions including; complimentaries, coupons, senior discounts, etc.
        Always demonstrates outstanding guest service while accurately and effectively tendering checks. Accurately reviews payment of choice and ensures proper change when required.
        Always logs off register before taking breaks and before leaving for the day. Accurately counts drawer at end of shift.
        Always greets guest, asks them how their meal was and encourages them to return.
 
Food Server
 
        Up sells food and beverages within the restaurant; desserts, appetizers, etc.
        Attempts to control food costs; though away, etc.
        Ensures that stations are clean, orderly and stocked with the specified condiments and promotional material. Ensures that tables are set properly according to assigned station. Always exhibits extreme care when handling dishware, glassware, silverware and food product.
        Always completes side duties, including; stocking condiments, folding napkins, polishing glasses, etc.
 
 
        Effectively takes guest orders in a timely manner. Ensures that beverage orders are taken within two minutes after guest is seated.
        Maintains complete knowledge of all menu and beverage items, their prices, method of preparation, and availability.
        Ensures that all guest orders are correct before service. Ensures that all sales are accounted for prior to presenting the check to the guest.
        Ensures that guests receive their check in a timely manner according to assigned work area.
 
Host
 
        Ensures all guests are seated in a timely manner. Greets every guest with a smile. 
        Maintains constant awareness of table availability in designated area.
        Combines tables as necessary to accommodate larger parties while maintaining sufficient aisle room for Servers.
        Always asks the number of guests in the party and smoking preference. Always informs the guest(s) of his/her Food Server.
        Ensures that restaurant entrance and exit are always attended so as not to inconvenience guest(s).
        Always thanks guest for patronage and welcomes them back.
        Always checks outlet environment ensuring all amenities that need attention are handled appropriately and efficiently.
 
Supervisory
 
   Maintains knowledge of F&B Operation’s internal functions, controls and software updates and takes the initiative to convey pertinent information to employees regarding policy changes.
   Ensures efficiency and accurate performance standards are met by maintaining communication with all work areas to verify paperwork and inventory controls.
   Takes responsibility for ensuring that employees are trained/developed in F&B Operations and monitors business flow to develop efficient training, break and shift schedules.
   Regularly monitors the inventory of all F&B supplies and orders supplies as needed.  
   Remains current on daily and weekly bus schedules, tracks banquet event orders that may affect business.
   Understands and maintains the highest quality of food and service levels.

JOb requirements:

1.       Must be currently enrolled in a Restaurant Management/Hospitality or related program.
2.      Previous F&B experience is a plus
3.      Must have the desire to advance in Food & Beverage field.
4.      Must be available to maintain flexible schedule
5.      Must have excellent communication skills.
