Description

System Deployment Project Manager

Position Summary:                                                                                                                                                                  The System Deployment Project Manager provides project management and quality assurance to key AMI fixed base projects.  This individual manages the pre-sales coordination of fixed base projects, including RF propagations, FCC site licenses and frequencies, contractors (both primes and subs), order entry specials, deployment of collectors and meter interface units (MIUs), etc. He/she coordinates with sales, product manager,s and proposals to ensure high quality Neptune fixed base system deployments.  The System Deployment Project Manager acts as a liaison between the customer, contractors, and the factory to ensure deployments meet customer expectations while also conducting regularly scheduled meetings with all stakeholders. Travel is required.

Objectives:

  1. Manage deployment of Neptune fixed base systems.
    1. Act as the liaison between customer, prime, subs, and factory 
    2. Travel to projects as necessary 
    3. Track/coordinate equipment shipments, implementation personnel, and third-party contractors
    4. Manage specials process/order entry 
    5. Conduct/attend weekly project status meetings 
    6. Develop relations with third-party contractors
      1. Prime contractors
      2. Installation contractors (water tower, electrical, communications, water meters, AMI equipment, etc.)
  2. Support the propagation and frequency licensing processes.
    1. Perform propagations analysis to determine the number of collectors and mapping for proposal or AMI system deployment
    2. Support frequency licensing process performing frequency monitoring, site surveys, spectrum analysis, and providing information for license and system activation details
  3. Support system monitoring and training.
    1. Provide training for AMI system equipment to installation contractors, customers, distributors, etc.
    2. AMI systems software training when necessary for system deployment
    3. Conduct system and installation audits and follow up on open issues
  4. Proposals
    1. Participate in RFP/bid review
    2. Coordinate with proposals manager to respond to RFPs/bids
    3. Participate in contract service level agreement (SLA) for message success rate (MSR)

 

Requirements:

Education:                     Bachelor of Science in Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Experience:                   Project Management (5+ years of experience preferred)

Physical:                        Ability to lift equipment weighing approximately 75 pounds

Special Training:          Project management certification preferred, wireless systems, customer support/relations, meter and AMR/AMI infrastructure installations, managing or working as a prime/sub contractor, site development, surveys, inspections.

Travel required.
