Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Senior Designer/Project Architect in our San Francisco office, which is located in the heart of the Financial District. Our office is one block from the Montgomery Street BART Station and is accessible to several Muni bus and rail lines; we are also within walking distance to several local restaurants and retail shops as well as Chinatown and Union Square Districts. This California Licensed /Licensure-tracked individual must have 7+ years of California architectural design experience managing Commercial Building and Interiors projects.  Specifically, this person will have the opportunity to contribute to corporate and creative office tenant interiors, existing building adaptive reuse renovations, automotive, retail, and industrial projects. The successful candidate will assume responsibility of small to medium-sized projects while maintaining existing Client relationships. This person must have a thorough understanding of all phases of a project from initial proposal through construction and Client occupancy. Experience with Revit preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops solutions for complex design problems, including code compliance and agency interface.
     
  • Extensive experience (minimum of 5 years) in all phases of Commercial Office construction and architectural design, construction administration and project management.
     
  • Responsible for technical oversight and coordination of project activities with clients, consultants, contractors, and staff.
     
  • Maintains strong client and consultant relationships with goal of expanding firm’s responsibilities, obtaining repeat business and referrals; knows clients’ organizations, key people and sensitivities and uses this knowledge to better serve their needs.
     
  • Capable of making independent judgments and decisions for projects and project teams.
     
  • Mentors/coaches less experienced staff.
     

Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
     
  • 7+ years California architectural design experience with Commercial and Interiors projects.
     
  • California architectural license or licensure-tracked.
     
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
     
  • Intermediate experience with MS Excel.
     
  • Basic experience with MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
     
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
     
  • Experience with Revit preferred.
