Imerys, world leader in mining industrial minerals, is looking for a Marketing Intern for 10-12 weeks (summer) to work in our Roswell, Georgia office.  Candidate should have completed their Junior year of college and be a Business Major who has completed Introduction to Marketing and Finance Classes.





Project Scope:

  • Conduct business-to-business market research for Power & Energy market segments:
    • Evaluate new market/new application opportunities for Aurora where Imerys can demonstrate a sustainable competitive advantage.
    • Develop value-added strategies to increase sales opportunities (segmentation, competitive analysis, product positioning, pricing, channel strategies, etc).
  • Work closely with product management, sales and marketing teams as needed to ensure synergistic strategies are developed for implementation.



Project Description:

  • At any given time, the Aurora program has 8-10 developmental opportunities in various stages of the sales development process.  We have a need to complete stronger market research on these opportunities early in the process.
  • The Marketing intern will provide significant value to the business by enabling the Product Manager and Ceramics Leadership teams to make better decisions early in the sales development process, thereby devoting resources to the Region/fuel/segment with greatest likelihood of commercial success.
  • The Marketing intern will gain first-hand experience doing B2B market research, with guidance from the Product Manager.



Project Learning Objectives:

  • Develop core marketing skills for business-to-business environment:  value chain analysis, market analysis, positioning, competitive analysis, value proposition, and strategy development.
  • Enhance ability to manage through influence in a cross-functional organization by leading specific projects which require input from other functions.
  • Build strong project management skills through experience working within a stage-gate new product development process.
  • Develop clear, concise and convincing presentation skills through interim market segment team presentations and final presentation to Ceramics management.
