POSITION SUMMARY:

Chanel, Inc., a leader in the luxury goods industry seeks a Manager of Events, who can effectively manage planning and executing an annual events and client acquisition plan for Fashion, Watches and Fine Jewelry. Will play a key role in managing and ensuring the flawless execution of all events.  

POSITION RESPONSIBILITY: 

  • Oversee and manage 70+ events annually for Chanel Fashion and WFJ boutiques
  • Support planning and execution of events for WFJ wholesale accounts
  • Partner with Director to build strategic marketing communication plans to support business initiatives, product launches, re-openings and brand image events   
  • Partner with Director, US boutiques and WFJ wholesale doors to develop local event plans
  • Implement local outreach plans to support client growth
  • Develop relationships with internal and external contacts for client acquisition and new target groups
  • Establish partnership with internal clients to understand the business and develop plans to support key objectives
  • Support development of partnerships/sponsorships and maintain relationships for ongoing opportunities
  • Ability to develop new concepts and create unique experiences
  • Partner with visual team to develop décor for select events 
  • Work with Director to leverage opportunities with PR and coordinate necessary actions
  • Work with Director, Marketing - Events to plan budgets by market
  • Build a formalized follow up program for all events to maintain relationships and generate sales
  • Responsible for development and tracking of event ROI with CRM support
  • Prepare post event recaps and ROI analysis for management distribution and internal communications
  • Develop relationships with mall marketing partners to increase editorial coverage in mall outreach programs 
  • Utilize mall marketing relationships to identify opportunities and develop targeted events
  • Partner with boutiques to develop relationships with community organizations and luxury hotels to drive traffic and increase business

Travel:

  • 10+ domestic trips per year
  • Possible International trip to Paris for Events Training Program 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience managing events successfully on site and ability to handle simultaneous tasks 
  • Ability to make independent decisions when organizing or managing events
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and follow through on all tasks
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively both with internal and external
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and Power point
  • Capable of working independently, but can also work as a team
  • Creative ability to develop new ideas and event concepts
  • clients

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • 5+ years experience planning and executing WFJ events for luxury brand(s)

Special Requirements of the Position:

Problem Solving: 

  • Budget management and trouble-shooting
  • Anticipate event logistics, including potential issues and resolution of conflicts and problems during event execution 

Contacts:

  • Interact with all levels of boutiques and corporate employees, including senior management 

Scope and Impact of Position:

  • Collaboration required on almost every element of program development and management
  • Will independently pursue partners for  event partnerships with approval by Director
  • Will identify and resolve event logistics issues off site and on site to ensure flawless execution. 

Budget Responsibility:

  • Work with Director, Marketing - Events to plan budgets by market for Events and Promotions and Charitable Contributions
  • Reconcile quarterly and year-end budget actuals for accrual and reclassification
