Job Overview:
The Project Process Engineer III is responsible for overall management of the individual project(s) assigned by the Central Engineering Manager, including cost control, engineering, quality, execution, schedule, planning, communications, documentation, technical specifications and requirements. In addition, this individual will collaborate with local Plant Operations leadership and will be responsible for process designs; including equipment specifications, operating instructions, training, process documentation (P&IDs etc.) and management of change and will be responsible for coordinating system testing (Check-out) as a key team member of the installation startup supervision team.
Territory/Location Information: This position is based in Fresno, Texas.
Main Responsibilities:

Responsible for overall management of the individual project: including cost control, engineering, quality, execution, schedule, planning, communications, documentation, technical specifications and requirements.

Review and understand client (Operations, Business Unit) specifications to fully identify and understand project obligations and scope of supply and taking exception where appropriate.

Provide technical support for all plants and other business units on process and equipment problems, and other issues.

Lead or participate in teams to develop drawings and documents required for project execution.

Develop specifications and procurement of Project Related Equipment (Data sheet development).

Project construction management; construction cost control and schedule development, compliance, Equipment startup coordination.

Participate in department teams to development of standards and project execution processes.

Project initiation and justification (Business case development).
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering).

9+ years of leadership experience in areas of project development and execution within a chemical manufacturing environment (particularly in batch processing).

At least 8 years for experience in project engineering of projects of ≤$1MM in total installed cost.

At least 5 years in a process engineering role within chemical/refining industries.
Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Engineering Registration (PE) preferred.

Project Management Registration (PMP) preferred.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Strong project management experience preferred.

Mastery of the concepts of a stage gated work process.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Autocad, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal direction/supervision.
-
Experience managing EPC contractor.
