PURPOSE OF JOB: 

Interns will have the opportunity to apply concepts, protocols and tools acquired through coursework while working side by side with cyber security experts. This role focuses on mission areas such as identification and analysis of malicious code, forensics analysis, incident handling, intrusion detection and prevention, and software assurance.

 

Interns will be assigned a specific project and expected to perform research producing an oral brief and written report. Exercise initiative and judgment to attempt to address issues until a mentor can assist.

 

 

KEY RESPONSBILITIIES:

 

  • Candidate will assist engineers who serve as members of a team conducting system hardening and testing.

 

  • Assisting in the development, enhancement, maintenance and documentation of software tools used to support hardening and testing

 

  • Installation and testing of software (hardening/testing tools, support software, software under review) in a laboratory environment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Must be currently pursuing Bachelors of Science within Computer Science or Information Systems related degree
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Self driven and highly motivated
  • Remain current on technical developments affecting information security and threats
  • Share knowledge and lend support to management and team members
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment requiring execution of multiple simultaneous deliverables
  • Knowledge of computer networks and internet security
  • US Citizenship

 

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

6 months to 1 year of related experience
