The User Experience (UX) Architect is passionate about serving end users and focuses on user centricity to help clients serve their target audiences. The UX Architect learns about the users, including their emotional connections, unmet goals and needs, and helps our multi-disciplinary team understand how to create world-class experiences around the end user.  The UX Architect reports to the User Experience Director

Specific Duties:

  • Lead project teams in user-centered design activities, including:
  • Heuristic reviews and competitive audits - Performing heuristic evaluations of client and competitor sites and determine opportunities for optimization and innovation
  • User Research & Design Research - Conducting contextual inquiry (in-person observation and interviews) with target users to understand their mental models and behaviors, unmet needs and goals, and emotional connections that can lead to insights and emotional design
  • Research Analysis & Reporting - Analyzing information gained during user research and providing recommendations 
  • Persona & Scenario Development - Defining target users and authoring detailed user personas and scenarios to help our team and client develop a deep understanding of the end user
  • Modeling and task-flow creation - Conceptualizing ideal user paths/task flows/scenarios, etc.
  • Features & Functions planning - Helping to recommend tactics and features that will best serve the user, the business, and technology
  • Information architecture - Building navigational systems, site maps, wireframes etc.
  • Interaction Design - Leading the multi-disciplinary team through low & high fidelity prototyping, to elevate our design thinking and establish new, intuitive interaction design patterns
  • Usability Testing - Conducting usability testing, analyzing the results, and creating a recommendations report
  • Other UCD-related activities as required
  • Experience in mobile and content strategy a plus



  • Undergraduate degree (degree or coursework in the following is a plus: design, human-computer interaction, anthropology, architecture, journalism, library or information science)
  • At least 3- 5 years of experience working in an interactive agency or Internet consulting environment
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), organization, and client-interaction skills
  • Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, processes and techniques
  • Experience in a multidiscipline team environment providing leadership in areas of expertise
  • Strong design research and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with technology, accessibility and search engine optimization
  • Solid understanding of designing user experiences for the digital ecosystem
