Who You Would Be

The Associate Director, Strategy + Planning is responsible for providing strategic insights and direction to aid in the development of compelling brand strategies and communication platforms for existing and potential clients. Working closely with the account service and creative departments in particular, the Associate Director, Strategy+Planning drives the development of a core brand idea based on a synthesis of primary and secondary research, market and consumer data, and competitive analyses. In addition, this position will spend 10% of the time working on the agency’s new business pitches. 


The Really Really

The Associate Director of Strategy + Planning will lead strategy and planning for significant brand(s)/client(s)  

He or she will synthesize information to provide thoughtful and well-written conclusions on which to develop a marketing and branding plan for the client.  The AD will also author and/or share thought leadership with clients and industry by leading or co-leading client presentations.  He or she will always stay attuned to technology, category, cultural dynamics, and brand opportunities to provide value to the client


On top of being the clients lead strategic partner, the AD is a partner to many other disciplines within the agency.  Always keeping measurement in mind, The AD will work with Marketing Sciences group to develop channel strategies and tactical plans and develop success metrics.  Understanding this, he or she will share and reapply program performance reviews and optimization recommendations.  He or she will develop briefs in tandem with the Account leads to develop client relationships as well as inspire the creative team to develop concepts, ideas, and plans for successfully achieving objectives.  The AD will work closely with the Insights & Inspirations team to lead development of insights


Must Haves

7 - 10 years minimum of marketing experience 

Experience in digital/interactive

Proven success in handling multiple projects at the same time

A knack for creating and presenting decks – the ability to captivate a room

Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative consumer research

A demonstrated ability to think out of the box and provide solutions to business issues

Proficiency in doing research on the Internet, analyzing it, and arriving at logical and insightful conclusions

Stellar written, verbal, and information-seeking skills

Excellent computer skills, including PowerPoint

The ability to travel (Up to 20%)

Comfort interacting with all levels of an organization

Bachelor’s degree (marketing or business focus preferred)
